Since Winter is still upon us, but we all want it to be Spring, we thought it would be a great time to think about easy skin care steps which focus on everyday habits you can easily break. These are things you might already be doing, but it’s always nice to have that fresh reminder that you’ve got it!

This is literally the easiest thing you can do for your skin. Whether you’re at work or home, grab a glass of water! Water is the best alternative for any beverage. If you’re at work or out and about, get yourself a reusable water bottle and fill it up when you’re on the go. There are SO MANY awesome reusable water bottles out there. Take a look on Etsy for a local water bottle maker and help support your local makers! Start sippin’ that water ya’ll! Your skin is your largest organ, keep it happy with lots of water.
Try Not To Touch Your Face
This is a bad habit we all have, and once you make yourself conscious of it, it’s easy to avoid doing it. Our hands touch a lot of things all day long, imagine all the dirt and bacteria lingering in your hands, that you then put on your face! Ew, gross right? We can’t constantly wash our hands all day, so the best course of action is to avoid touching your face too much. If you do get an itch, try to wash your hands first!
Wash Your Hands
Again, we touch a lot of things, and our face with our hands. If you are a face toucher, and just can’t help it, make sure you’re washing your hands often throughout the day. Especially if you’ve been handling things and you don’t know where they’ve been.
We’re not going to tell you what to eat, but there are certain things you should avoid eating. Sugar, excess salt, foods high in saturated fats, or trans fats should be avoided. Try to pick healthy alternatives when snacking. Instead of sugary ice cream, try yogurt and berries. Instead of potato chips and dip, try a corn tortilla and salsa. Avoid sugary sodas and try a sugar/sodium free flavoured soda water. Rather than ordering a latte everyday, switch things up with a herbal tea. Make lunch and dinners yummy and healthy by doing a meal prep once a week; Pinterest is an amazing tool for coming up with new healthy meals. There are also meal prep services which are usually full of delicious healthy meals.
Wash Your Face At Night
Our skin goes through a lot during the day, so it’s important to make sure you’re doing a good end of day face wash before bed. Cleansing, toning, and moisturizing are essential to keeping your skin happy and healthy. Bacteria and dirt can get trapped in the make up we wear, so we want to make sure to remove that at the end of the day.
