For this week of Self-Care September, we're catching up on our beauty sleep.
One third of Canadians are considered sleep-deprived, meaning that odds are, you're not getting enough sleep on a regular basis. Sleep deprivation can be pretty serious, impacting your mood, your ability to pay attention, and even your waistline. It also wreaks havoc on your skin, leaving you looking older than you are.
If you're not getting enough sleep, it doesn't matter if you're taking care of yourself in other ways. Your health will still end up suffering.
What do you do if you're not getting a good night's sleep? Try exercising more, turning off screens before bed (the blue light from your phone or tablet can keep you awake), and developing a calming bedtime routine.
